With over a decade of experience mentoring students across diverse academic journeys, I bring a global perspective shaped by study, research, and life across four continents.
Currently pursuing my second PhD at the University of Cambridge, UK, in philosophy of physics, on a full scholarship via the prestigious Cambridge Commonwealth Trust and Queens’-Daim Award, I have previously completed a PhD at the University of Canterbury, New Zealand in applied mathematics (also with multiple scholarships and awards), and undertaken an exchange program at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
My academic path has included research fellowships at leading institutions such as the University of Vienna, a young researcher award from Spanish Society for Philosophy of Science, and my work has been published in top international journals, including those published by the Cambridge University Press and Springer Nature.
Throughout this journey, I have developed a deep understanding of academic excellence, cross-disciplinary research, and global admissions landscapes, and a feeling of what it is like to live abroad in different socio-cultural settings.
As a mentor, I help young scholars and professionals identify the right programs, supervisors, and institutions for their ambitions, craft compelling narratives that showcases their best academic self, and helps them unlock their full academic potential.
With over 8 years of experience guiding students through their academic journeys, I specialize in mentoring MBA, MS, and MPhil aspirants toward successful admissions outcomes. I have supported 100+ candidates in navigating the GRE, GMAT, and IELTS, and helped craft compelling applications that secure places at top global universities.
An alumnus of NIT Tiruchirappalli (Civil Engineering, 2013) and a CertTESOL-certified educator from Trinity College London, my professional path has been shaped by a love of teaching, storytelling, and mentoring. I have previously worked as a Business Analyst, Commodities Trader, and Content Writer, and later found my true calling at Manya–The Princeton Review, where I coached over 200 GRE and GMAT aspirants to outstanding scores.
My background includes a research stint at the Indian School of Business, where I further honed my skills in academic writing and research mentoring. Living in the Himalayas today, I combine my passion for education, language, and leadership to provide personalized mentoring to future global leaders.
Beyond academics, I am an avid trekker, a student of Buddhist philosophy, and a polyglot, fluent in five languages. My mentoring philosophy draws from empathy, communication, and a deep commitment to helping each student find and express their unique story — so that their application stands out in a highly competitive admissions landscape.
I look forward to helping you shape your academic aspirations into global opportunities.
Sagar is a storyteller, technologist, and adventurer at heart—someone who thrives at the intersection of creativity, innovation, and impact. A recipient of the prestigious Cambridge MBA Scholarship for Professional Impact, he brings a dynamic, multi-layered perspective to business education and admissions consulting.
Before Cambridge, Sagar spent over five years in the film, media, and gaming industry as a cinematographer and producer. His portfolio includes a wide range of critically and commercially acclaimed projects—from multilingual VR documentaries and Grammy Award-winning music videos to 3D projection mapping shows, holographic political campaigns, and TVC’s for the Indian Olympic team.
His pioneering work earned him several accolades, including the Prime Minister’s Award for Excellence, personally presented by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He also led the development of India’s highest-resolution stereoscopic 3D VR camera system and software pipeline.
Outside the studio and classroom, Sagar is a passionate adventurer. He rows with the Queens’ College team at Cambridge and is an avid motorsport enthusiast, frequently taking part in car racing events. He approaches life much like the stories he tells—with curiosity, child-like wonder and a sense of bold exploration.
Having received offers from every top-ranked MBA program he applied to (NYU Stern, HEC Paris, and like), Sagar now helps others unlock their own potential. He specialises in working with applicants from all backgrounds, guiding them to craft authentic, compelling narratives that stand out at the world’s best business schools.
I have lived and studied in four different countries—China, Scotland, England, and Germany—pursuing academic paths across multiple disciplines such as film and media studies, philosophy and religious studies, history of art, and modern literature, culture, and thought. Currently, I am doing my doctoral research at the University of Cambridge, generously funded by Queens’-Daim Scholarship. It is intensely transdisciplinary and transcultural. Focusing on three filmmakers from Japan, China, and America, respectively, I draw on conceptual resources from a wide range of disciplines, especially philosophy and theology.
Moreover, I have published works in academic, peer-reviewed journals like Film-Philosophy, Open Cultural Studies, and Journal for Religion, Film and Media. This plurality of interests means that I am able to coach students from various backgrounds and discover interesting connections and potentials across fields.
I also have rich teaching experience, immersing in and shaped by the unique education system of Cambridge. For two years, I have been deeply involved with teaching two core undergraduate courses of History of Art Tripos at Cambridge: ‘Approaches to the history of art, with reference to works of criticism’ and ‘The display of art’. Both courses take a panoramic perspective on various art forms across histories regarding their locations, discussions, and theorisations. I have given a guest lecture, led seminar discussions, and, most importantly, taught small group (three students per group) supervisions on a biweekly basis. Supervisions are a unique, highly effective form of teaching exclusive to Oxbridge, where students have an opportunity to raise questions and clarify problems encountered during the course of reading, lectures or practical work through small group discussion. This teaching format is most similar to what I want to offer here, namely, professional and personalised discussions that help students to clarify their academic potentials and ambitions and guide them to the most compatible and ideal institutions, programs, and supervisors.
With over five years of experience mentoring students through pivotal academic decisions, I offer guidance shaped by a deep understanding of scientific research and global education pathways.
Currently pursuing a PhD in Chemistry at the University of Cambridge as a Gates Cambridge Scholar, I previously completed both my BA and MSci in Natural Sciences at Cambridge. Throughout my undergraduate and master’s studies, I have received multiple academic prizes for achieving the highest marks in chemistry at Queens’ College, Cambridge, and placing in the top 10% of the university-wide chemistry cohort.
My academic journey has also included research placements at Imperial College London and Cipla Ltd in Mumbai, experiences that grounded my scientific interests in real-world applications.
Through this path, I’ve developed insight into what defines academic excellence, how to thrive in high-performance environments, and how to navigate competitive research landscapes with clarity and confidence.
As a mentor, I help students understand their potential, identify educational paths that align with their strengths, and shape narratives that reflect their intellectual curiosity and ambition.
Having completed my BA, MPhil, and (very soon) PhD degrees at the University of Cambridge, I am more than familiar with the kinds of personal qualities and qualifications elite British universities expect. My background in Modern Languages and work experience in both Germany and Japan means that I am also able to look beyond the boundaries of my island homeland and take a global perspective, reaching out to and working with students from very different backgrounds to my own.
So far, I have managed to navigate the murky waters of scholarship applications and academic journal submissions well: my doctoral research in twentieth-century German philosophy is fully funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council and some of my journal articles have appeared in the leading publications my field has to offer. I am excited to share the insider knowledge I gained through these experiences with others, helping them to take their own first steps towards a flourishing academic future.
Beyond reading through dusty tomes and honing my German grammar for myself, I also love teaching students about history, philosophy, and culture, everything from lecturing undergraduates on Sigmund Freud’s cultural theories to guiding Japanese high-school students through the complexities of English pronunciation. All this means that I know how to offer tailored learning environments and constructive feedback, giving students the confidence and curiosity they need to expand the horizons of their knowledge.
Although the GLC story started in March 2025 on paper, the story has been several years in the making when two friends entered the academic world and found themselves helping others navigate the journey.
While Santosh started working as an independent tutor in 2019, Aditya joined the PhD program at the University of Canterbury, New Zealand, on a scholarship, during which time he mentored many students to navigate the complexities of studying and living abroad. Meanwhile, with his strengths of shaping and bringing personal statements to life, Santosh helped many of his friends and other students with their study abroad dreams.
During a Himalayan hike in 2021, both worked together on Aditya’s visiting student fellowship application at Cambridge University and a student exchange application at MIT, they realized the intricacies of the application process- thinking clarity of thought, connecting by demonstrating, finding the right voice, and having a 360-degree perspective towards careers, plans, and life when deciding to study abroad.
With their affable and warm demeanor, precision of thought, and a genuine passion for each student they have worked with, they have gone on to mentor 100+ students to places such as Harvard University, London Business School, London School of Economics, University of British Columbia, Carnegie Mellon University, UC Irvine, and Indian School of Business.
Witnessing the need for a holistic approach to graduate life, an integrated perspective towards applications, and empathetic mentorship that empowered people, Grad Life Consulting was started to help people launch their study/research abroad plans with elan and poise. At GLC, we like to think of ourselves as that good friend you can rely upon to play the roles needed in this journey- the career coach, gentle mentor, and trusted confidant.
Let's go far by going together.
And we love to talk! Feel free to reach out to us if you would like to dream with your eyes open.
