What DOES OUR CONSULTATION INVOLVE?

  • Starting off with our initial contact hours, we get to know your profile, your research interests, industrial exposure, and creative interests.

  • We provide you a reflection document (only in the All-In Model, see below) that allow you to express and consolidate your personal, academic and professional journey. This detailed document (about 10-15 pages) can be tuned depending on the program concerned. This document and your research proposal forms the basis of our consultations and keeps our interactions structured, efficient and productive.

  • We then dedicate time to researching schools, professors, and courses or research areas that best align with your background and goals. This research can be focussed (as in the Enrolment Model; see below) or extensive (as in the All-In Model below), depending on the model you opt for.

  • For e.g., extensive research covers not only researching about your professor's profile and their major research interests, but also other their academic papers and relevant projects (sometimes a thorough reading of them) to be able to closely relate them to your research interests, a lot more closely than a broad reading would allow for. This can make an application stand out.

  • Focussed research (as in the Enrolment Model) will not cover this research so closely, as this consumes a significant amount of time.

  • Going ahead, if you are applying for a scholarship, your consultant also reviews the scholarship bodies you’re interested in, carefully matches your profile with their criteria, and suggests additional scholarships that you may not have considered. The consultant will also have a record of previous scholarship holders, who will act as a model for your own application.

  • Based on further in-depth discussions, your consultant refines their recommendations, co-edits your Statement of Purpose (SOP) and research proposal. Both of these require significant work from both your end and the consultant's, leading to multiple rounds of brainstorming and fine-tuning your essays (SOP/research proposal), more so for the most competitive programs.

  • A final review and detailed discussion then concludes the application for a particular school.

  • If you work with us for more than one school (we recommend at least a three-school bundle), the same process, will follow. But it will be more geared towards tuning your profile/research to the additional school and the professor that you apply to.

The number of direct contact hours on Zoom calls is just the tip of the iceberg. A lot of background research and strategy goes on behind the scenes—this is the work that truly elevates your application.

FAQs on pricing

Feel free to reach out at info@gradlifeconsulting.com or text us on whatsapp if you have any further queries.

You can migrate between packages freely, with two caveats. To be able to migrate, you must have completed the consultation with us for at least one school (any model). And once we start working on a particular school/application, migration is not possible. An advance notice is required, should you wish to migrate, before the work on a particular application begins.

Yes, we extend need-based financial concession but only to exceptional students who show an excellent academic record and commit to work with us. A sub-committee of our mentors and advisory board decide upon whether a candidate qualifies for such a concession.

Yes, we keep your best interests in mind. Let us know in advance of starting work on a particular school/application. You can alternately decide to work for lesser number of schools than originally opted for, or decide to increase later on.
